Afif is a documentary feature film about Afif Bulos, a gay Palestinian-Lebanese musician, impresario, and beloved teacher who produced Gilbert & Sullivan musicals in Beirut for decades, until his tragic unsolved murder in 1982.
Afif founded and led the legendary Beirut Orpheus Choir and taught generations of singers. As a child, filmmaker Josh Peterson lived in Lebanon, where his father sang lead roles in the Orpheus Choir and took voice lessons with Afif. Josh was always fascinated by this dynamic, charming, mischievous man and is honored to have the cooperation of the Bulos family in retelling his dramatic life story.
Currently in the early stages of production and fundraising.
Help bring Afif back into the spotlight where he always belonged! U.S. donations are tax-deductible here.
